Words create.

God SPOKE the world into existence.

He said, “Light Be!” and it was.

In the last lesson, we mentioned Mark 11:23-24, I want to show it to you again because you need to get this one deep down on the inside of you. It’s the key to unlocking your success. I promise that if you act out on these scriptures, your life will change course in the direction you want it to. This is Jesus talking, (emphasis mine) teaching on the power of  HAVING what you SAY. Check it:

“Truly I tell you, whoever SAYS to this mountain, Be lifted up and thrown into the sea! And does not doubt at all in his heart but believes that what he SAYS will take place, it will be done for him.

For this reason I am telling you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe (trust and be confident) that it is granted to you, and you will [get it].”

 

You’ll notice that Jesus tells us “Whoever says” to the mountain. First off, it says “WHOEVER” – hey that’s you! And then he instructs that you can SAY to the mountain in front of you (The mountain represents anything hovering over you – a mountain of debt, or lack, or sin, or addictions, or bad habits) to get out of here! And if you don’t doubt in your heart (sidenote:  it says “heart” – doubt still might come to your brain, but don’t let it sink into your heart) but instead believes what he SAYS will take place, IT WILL BE DONE FOR HIM.

-Wow that’s powerful, I use this scripture, this mindset, every single day of my life. It has been ingrained and established in my heart as a truth, that I will have whatever I say.

The Power of Confession:

Nearly 10 years ago I started a confession sheet. I wrote out exactly what I was believing God for, put it in first person and backed it up with scriptures.

I began to read, speak, confess and declare these requests daily. And I kid you not, it worked. I literally spoke my future into existence. No, it didn’t happen overnight, (but it almost seemed like it!) and God gave me exactly what I asked for.

It looks something like this:

“God I thank you for this great day, I thank you for everything you are doing in my life. God I know your hand of blessing is on my life today, you both precede me and follow me (Ps 139:5)

I thank you Lord for the future and hope you have for me, I know your plan is to prosper me in all I do (Jeremiah 29:11)

I thank you in advance Father, for the perfect wife for me, in your perfect timing, I know you will bring her to me and that I will know without a shadow of a doubt she will be the one you have picked for me. God I thank you for paying for her engagement ring, it’s the exact one she wants, and while we’re at it, I thank you now for setting us up in the perfect home for us as well, I cast these cares to you and know you’ll get it handled for us. (1 Peter 5:7)

Lord I thank you for financial increase today, your word says you will teach me how to profit, and show me the path to take to get there (Isaiah 48:17 NKJV) So I am asking you to day for a raise and a promotion at work today, show me how to profit so eventually I can start my own business and live a life free from the restrictions of a job…”

-That’s just an excerpt, but I’ll tell you what, when you speak like this, you are speaking like God speaks. (Remember He created with His words – now you do the same!) And when you speak like God speaks, you get His kind of results.

Here are some of the things I personally asked for and confessed until I received them:

• The perfect way to propose to my fiance:(God brought an outsider who gave me the idea, not only did she say yes, but it was on TV and I got paid $1200 – more on this later)
• The perfect home to start our life out in: (We got it in the exact neighborhood we wanted, WELL below market value, AND we got an incentive bonus of $8000 when we bought it)
• I confessed for the right godly friends to come into my life, the ones that sharpen me and make me better: (I meet with my crew every saturday morning for breakfast and the results have been phenomenal)
• I’ve confessed we are debt free and will continue to do so until we have it: (I only owe on my house. No credit cards, no vehicles, no school loans -nothing!)
• I even confessed to have a month long honeymoon after I got married – and got it!

…Those are just a few. I include praying that loved ones and family members come to know Christ, ask God to show you where to serve at your church, or confess that you will be the biggest giver in your entire congregation!

Later, after I was married, I asked for the “cutest kid in the whole city”

-Boom, got that too!

This isn’t a magic formula to get whatever you want, no that’s not what I’m saying.

What I am saying is that what Jesus said works. You will have what you say.

Romans 10:17 teaches us that “Faith comes by hearing, hearing the Word of God.” The more you hear it, the more faith you’ll have for it. And that’s when things get interesting!

The more you confess it (out loud!) the more you hear it, the more you hear it, the more you believe it, the more you believe it, the more you speak, the more you speak it, THE MORE YOU HAVE IT!  It’s a powerful, faith-filled cycle, and I strongly suggest you get on it today. This has changed my life more than anything.

Let this sink in: 

“You are where you are today, because of the words you spoke yesterday.”

In other words: “You are a summation of all the words you’ve spoken up until this point.”

Every morning before work, pray for a few minutes, read the Bible for a few minutes, and then speak your confession sheet out loud. When I started this I lived in a house with 4 other guys, so I would literally go into my closet and shut the door to this.

Point is – do whatever it takes to get the results!
